I'm With Lorac

Logotipo de Lorac: la palabra 'Lorac' en letras doradas estilizadas con detalles que imitan ramas de coral, sobre una ola azul que evoca el océano.

All proceeds from the novel Lorac go to the project I’m With Lorac, which spreads the message of conservation of the planet and contributes to building a better world.

About I’m With Lorac

Born in 2017, the I’m With Lorac project embodies an emotional and powerful part of the plot of the novel Lorac, whose readers instantly recognise.

I’m With Lorac was created because the Earth, with all its life, is our only home and source of happiness and sustenance. Caring for it is not only fundamental to our well-being and that of those we love, but also connects us to something greater, giving us harmony and purpose. However, this message is often buried in our subconscious by the avalanche of information and tasks that fill our daily lives.

Our behaviour is shaped by rational, emotional, instinctive, and cultural factors and we must address them all for the call to care for our environment to be effective.

That’s why I’m With Lorac uses storytelling as a bridge to help us reconnect with nature and become aware of our impact. Stories, the oldest and most universal form of communication, not only convey information: they also awaken emotions, resonate in our cultures and inspire us to act out of love and a desire to protect what we value.

The I’m With Lorac project has launched the novel Lorac in Spanish, English and, soon, in French. In addition, a second novel is being worked on, while donations and collaborations are being made with various organisations committed to the protection of our planet.

The origin of Lorac: an adventure to save the ocean

In 2017, while preparing a proposal for a coral restoration project, marine scientist and writer Neus Figueras conceived the idea for Lorac, crafting its plot in parallel to the scientific project.

Neus’ proposal was selected and she and her team went to the Mergui archipelago in Myanmar, where they carried out preliminary studies and built artificial reefs and coral nurseries. It was there, at night, by the light of a torch in a hut in the middle of the jungle, that Neus began to write the novel.

En el centro, una guardería vertical con fragmentos de coral adheridos en distintos niveles, mostrando el proceso de restauración coralina. A la derecha, un buceador inspecciona los corales en crecimiento sobre la guardería suspendida en el fondo marino.

A year later, Neus dedicated herself full time to finishing Lorac, which was finally published in October 2019 as a unique work that unites art and science in the service of marine conservation.

In 2020, I’m With Lorac was accredited by the European Commission, and in 2021, Neus Figueras was appointed Young Ocean Advocate.

Today, the I’m With Lorac project continues to work to protect the oceans and your contribution would be fabulous and highly appreciated: recommend Lorac, leave a review, take action (if you don’t know how to start, you can contact me or read the Note to the Reader of the book, where you will find useful tips that would make an immediate impact).

Let our words and actions raise a big wave. Let’s unite and change the world!
